Logic for reference for anything (notice, NOC, any kind of documents to be delivered, PO)

Deal All,

We are going to maintain a register for all documents, which will have refer number and description for that ref no.

Here is one example:

H0726-01

• H represent 2008, for 2009, it would be "I"
• 07 two digit for current month
• 26 two digit for current date
• - (dash) 
• 01 two digit ref number for the date.

In case of purchase order, we can add two character prefix PO as below:

POH0726-01

Can we follow the above mentioned guideline as a standard for our society?
