File browser doesn't remember paths.

Hi Guys

In Maya 2017 I am constantly having to browse to the relevant folder through the folder browser.

In older Maya's the folder browser remembered the last folder you were saving in and the next time you went to the browser you were already there. 

Is there any reason this was changed? Is there a benefit I am missing? Or is there a way to revert to the old way of working?

Hey Will,

not using 2017 yet, but from File->Open or File->Save menu, can't you drag a folder you go to a lot from the RightHandSide "Name" section onto the TopLeft HandSide "Folder Bookmarks" section to store a favourite? I have favourites favourites stored there so it's easier to hop to different parts of the network...

Yeah the folder bookmarks definitely comes in handy. 

But what I am talking about is I want to save a file - I browse to the folder Asset_X and save. Now when I am ready to save the next version I open the save as menu and I am back at the root of the project and have to move through the folders to get back to the correct folder. 

In older maya's it remembered my last directory and automatically put me there. 

(Hope this is making sense - for such a simple thing, I am finding it hard to explain clearly)

Any one know why this changed?

Currently my maya remembers it's last save-path. Have you tried deleting your prefs? I know I hate that sentence... oh how I love 2017.
