I feel like there is an easy answer to this, but I can’t find it. In Viewport 2, if i use a texture for the color a maya or mr shader (lambert, blinn, etc) it is displayed nice and clean in the viewport. Seems relatively high res. But if I use a vray material, the same file is displayed very low res. Is there a setting for this?

thanks

Hi Gary,

Don’t have Maya in front of me, but I think that’s ‘Bake Resolution for Unsupported Texture Types’ in the Viewport 2.0 settings.

Switch Viewports to trigger a rebaking - clicking ‘rebake all textures’ never works for me.

Best,
Ian

Thanks Ian. That’s what I assumed too. But it didn’t go. But what DID work was ALSO clicking the Clamp Texture Resolution option and setting it something like 4096. Hmmm….. not intuitive and maybe busted. But seems to work

Viewport voodoo. Glad it works(!?), I’ll make a note of it!
