Houdini .abc scalar data on geometry into maya?!

How does this work? 
If I ref in the geo I can see some reference to the data on the alembic node...a scope feild.
I can't seem to get this to read via an RSuserDataScalar node in the hypershade.

I don't have a clue about Houdini but there
are several threads on the bifrost discord
concerning data import from Houdini.

I think Maya strips out all the mesh data when importing or referencing... have you tried the redshift proxy in alembic mode?

Hey thanks, I never noticed that .prx had an alembic node. That's interesting, will look into that...I suspect a normal prx might allow me to access the data. I already did a workaround, but appreciate the input.
