I've been asked if we can output a scene that's been lit and textured in Maya 2015 over to Max for another artist.
I see there is now a "Send to 3DS Max" feature in Maya, although it only shows up in the menu set if you have Max installed, which I currently don't. So I can't test this.
But in any case I'm wondering how well this feature is going to port across Vray materials and lights from Maya to Max, if at all? The docs state that materials can be transferred but don't explicitly mention Vray.
Anyone have any experience with this? Of course the non 3D artists in the chain of command want this file to magically transfer from one 3D application to another with all bells and whistles intact

Thanks for the replies on this. If nothing else it's always good to hear from other people in the trenches that I'm not madly wide of the mark when telling producers things aren't as easy as they think
