Hi there,
Do you know if it's possible to rename or set somehow reference nodes? I mean the nodes with a diamond as icon and "RN" letters in their name. I need to reference the very same file into my scene and I want everything renamed in sequence. The objects and hierarchy has it, but reference nodes themselves have weird naming. I can't rename them because they are locked.
Thanks!

I just posted about this yesterday in the area forums.

Select the RN
Run
nodeLock -lock 0

Then you can rename it

Yeah, syncing the name of the “RN” can seem unimportant until you’re running a script operation that needs to access it as well as the namespace. It’s pretty annoying. I had a shelf button handy to fix it when it came up often enough, but It’s another plus for referencing in a “published” versionless asset so naming doesn’t go out of sync.

But basically you can unlock the node and name it

Select the RN
Run
nodeLock -lock 0

Then you can rename it

I only want to thanks for the tip, I wrote a more extense message but I guess I sent it privately to author, so it doesn't appear here (or anywhere else, even for me)

Mmm, something is wrong here.
Executing "nodeLock" command throws this error: "Cannot find procedure "nodeLock""
I even tried to do it with "setAttr -lock" but it throws another error while parsing arguments.

My fault, I misspelled it, it's not nodelLock, but lockNode, LOL

You are right, you did it on purpose to force me to learn how to do it myself! LOL
