Baking xgen render to texture?

I know it's possible to bake things like shadow and occlusion to textures, is there a way to bake and project xgen hair to textures in a similar manner? The idea being to produce a low-resolution version of a model with some decent visualization of things like eyebrows and stubble.

Should probably mention: vray ideally, but could potentially use arnold or mental ray
