this is a long shot. but maybe someone on here has gotten this issue before .

Ina recent update at a studio I work for.. in 2024 .. the script editor temp is not saving.
I don't get any errors.
but everytime I close and re-open the script editor.. it comes up default.
So . its not writing out the data.
i've check the usual suspects like permissions. but I can't seem to figure this one out.

It is on Linux.

any body else have this happen to them?

thanks

Sometimes I have to click File/Save Preferences   two  times and it may work.

yeah, this a little different.
I can close the script editor in a maya session. open it back up , and its all empty.
I tracked down the mel that gets run to save all script editor temp.
I can run it. get no errors. but see that the folder does not get populated nor the scriptEditorTemp.mel get updated.

I thought it might be a permissions thing with those folders. but it's only happening with 2024  , and those folders are all now wide open.

I'll have to keep digging.. thanks

Just a thought... Could it be worth trying to select running Maya as administrator when you launch? If it's a permissions issue, maybe that would be able to get around it. I'm on Windows myself though, so maybe it's different on Linux.
