I'm trying to figure out how to playblast from the terminal. I've got it working, or at least I can generate a file, but it's just gray. So I'm guessing it has something to do with choosing a camera first, which you obviously do in the GUI by clicking.
From the docs, this seemed promising:
| Information about camera setup. The first string defines a camera setup MEL procedure. The camera setup procedure will be invoked before executing a playblast. The second string argument which is used as a camera identifier and is appended to the root file name to specify the final output file name(s). The command will fail there is not a pair of strings supplied to the argument. |

but.... It doesn't really help an idiot like me when I don't know what the camera setup MEL procedure is, and how it might be used. The supplied examples don't use -cs. Hmm. Anybody have any idea how this might be used? When it says the second string is a camera identifier, does it mean that the second string is the name of the camera? like
playblast -cs <string> shotCam -frame 8 -frame 3 -frame 2 -format image -viewer 1;
Is that right? and what is that first string?? argh. thanks anybody with any insights...
