"For I know the plans I have for you", declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
-Jeremiah 29:11

Dear Friends-

We will be CLOSED Easter Sunday Only, all other weekend classes will be held as scheduled.

Wade and I go to the movies every Saturday on our day off and this week we went to see "Soul Surfer," which is the story of the 13 year old Kauai born surfer, Bethany Hamilton, who had her arm taken off by a shark, when she was only 13 years old.  It is such an inspiring movie and i hope you will go see it!  I had read amazing things about Bethany in Nick Vujucic's book, "Life without Limits," and was excited to learn more about her life story.  Bethany taught Nick, who was born, without any arms and legs, how to surf on his own, amazing!  These two should run the world in my book, so full of faith, optimism and a determination to live life fully.  I want them to get married!  Here is a you tube of them surfing together:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eBLuRDqu584

This faith based film, is about Bethany's book, "Soul Surfer," and is a beautiful and touching movie about God's will for her life and how her tragic loss turned into a HUGE blessing for the world.  By losing one arm, Bethany touched thousands of people all around the world, who have suffered similar losses and were inspired by her strong will and determination to NEVER GIVE UP and to become a professional surfer.

Bethany is Christian and believes Jesus gave her the strength to over come her loss and to move forward with her life.  So the movie left me thinking of Easter and the resurrection of Christ and the cycle of death and rebirth.   Bethany's death of her life with two arms, had been resurrected into a new richer life, with one arm, because it gave her the opportunity to meet and help so many people she would have never met, when she had both of her arms.

Easter also reminds me of my father, who adopted me at birth: My father carried the cross at our church from the young age of ten, until his unexpected passing ON Easter morning eight years ago, at the age of 67.  He fell asleep in his chair the night before and just didn't wake up Easter morning. He never spoke of his relationship with God or Jesus ever when I was growing up, but you could see the pride on his face as he carried the cross down the aisle, with the choir singing behind him.  I always thought it was a real honor that God chose to call him HOME on the sacred day of Easter, which actually made perfect sense in the divine scheme of my father's life and helped me greatly when dealing with his loss.  How could I be mad at God and question His will for peacefully taking my dad on a day that meant so much to him?

Three years after my father passed, I met my birth father, who's birthday was ironically, two days after the anniversary of my dad's passing.  I feel my dad helped orchestrate our meeting from above, so the cycle of death and rebirth was even present in the relationship with both of my fathers, it's everywhere!

If you pay attention to your life, you will observe this powerful cycle taking place in all areas of your life:  your yoga practice, addictions, health, weight, careers, finances, relationships, your life dreams and even where you are living.  As the saying goes, "the only thing  permanent, is impermanence."  Yoga, meditation and prayer give you the strength, faith, wisdom and calmness to deal with life's unexpected changes and challenges, by learning to embrace the changes and to trust that God always has a plan for your life!  Put God first in your life and speak to Him/Her as you would a very best friend and ask for divine guidance about EVERYTHING, so you can live a fearless and full life, aligned with the truth of your Spirit.   Surfing anyone?!

Happy Easter and keep practicing!

Love and Light,
Kathleen and Wade
