Hello everyone,
This beta release shows a very cool new feature - silhouette rendering!
Big thanks goes to Patcha Saheb Binginapalli for writing this implementation!
To use the tool, simply enable the "MM Renderer" renderer from a viewport's "Renderer" menu, then click the MM Renderer option box to select the MM Renderer Globals node.
Finally, click on the Silhouette > Enable attribute
check-box to enable Silhouette rendering.
The following attributes can be used to control this new rendering mode;
- Depth Offset - Controls the detail/artifacts
of the
silhouette lines.
- Width - The width of the
silhouette
lines.
- Color - the RGB colour of the
silhouette
lines.
- Alpha - the opacity of the
silhouette
lines.
The silhouette lines can be rendered as well as "Wireframe On Shaded"-style hidden line rendering.
See the screenshot attached to this email for an example display of the effect.
We are hoping to get feedback of:
- Stability or unexpected visual artifacts.
- Performance (compared to default Viewport 2.0)
- Any other issues.
See the release notes for other updates, including the bug fixes to Create Controller 2, the core Solver, and new user preferences for loading Markers.

Thanks,
David
