Hello everyone,

mmSolver v0.4.4.beta1 has been released!

This beta release contains a Viewport 2.0 renderer named "MM Renderer".

To use the Viewport renderer, simply load the mmSolver plug-in (for example open the Solver UI to ensure the plug-in is loaded), then use the Viewport's "Renderer" menu to switch to "MM Renderer (beta)".

Initially you'll likely find all objects are invisible(!), however that's just a small-ish bug, and you'll simply need to add your objects to a Maya Display Layer to see them.

Once your objects are in a Display Layer you can use the Display Layer's "Extra Attributes" in the Attribute Editor to control specific options for how the objects in each layer are displayed.

MM Renderer is different from regular Viewport 2.0 because it has the following features:
- 2D Composite objects in "layers" to force objects in front/behind others.
- Show a edges/silhouette for objects (enable "Edges Enable" on the display layer).
- Supports "Hidden Line" rendering, without needing to enable "Hold Out" toggles or assign a useBackground shader.

In the next few days, I will update the documentation page to include MM Renderer.

If you find issues that aren't already listed in the issue 231, please report them - either on GitHub, on this mailing list, or to me directly (via email, preferably).

You can see the development notes and progress here:

P.S. This release also contains a fix for exporting 2D Tracks from Blender to 3DEqualizer.

Thanks,
David

Hello all,

The MM Renderer documentation page can be found here:

It will contain the latest information as things change and I get time to add more details.

Thanks,
David
