Number one on the list of Google searches was former President Nelson Mandela. The searches began during the year with the news of his illness and obviously surged following the announcement of his death on 5 December 2013.
2.Paul Walker
Second on the list was another death, this time being Fast and Furious star Paul Walker. Walker died on November 30, 2013 at the age of 40 following a car accident in which the car he was travelling in crashed into a light pole and tree.
3.iPhone 5S
3.In third place was the 'must-have' gadget of the year, the iPhone 5S.
4.Glee - Cory Monteith
4.In fourth place was another tragic passing. Cory Monteith died of a Heroin and alcohol overdose on July 13, 2013 at the age of 31.
5.Harlem Shake
The new dance craze, Harlem Shake was fifth on the list of searches.
6.Boston Marathon
6.Another one of the year's biggest events was the Boston marathon bombing on April 15, 2013 where two pressure cooker bombs exploded killing 3 people and injuring about 264 others.
6.Royal Baby
.The birth of the adorable Price George, son of Prince William and
Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge was also one of the most talked
about events, coming in at number 7.
8.Samsung Galaxy S4
8.Another gadget that made it on to the list the Samsung galaxy S4 which was launched in March this year.
9.Sony Ps4
9.The most anticipated device of the year, the PS4 is number 9 on the list of searches. The game console was announced in February but only launched in November.
10.North Korea Leader
North Korea and its leader Kim Jong Un also made it on to the top 10.
