Dear Experts,

I'm new to MaxScale. I've a Java application that currently connects to a MariaDB instance using the JDBC URL jdbc:mariadb://<hostname>db.  With MaxScale coming in, the application environment is going to get changed to: Java App  --> MaxScale --> 3 Galera Nodes (One write & 2 reads). So, for this, are there any special changes required to the JDBC URL?. Or just changing the hostname in the JDBC URL to the machine hosting MaxScale is sufficient?. Please clarify. Thanks in advance!

Hi,

On the client side, the only thing you need to change is the hostname in the URL. The tutorial here covers other aspects of setting up MaxScale, I'd recommend reading it.
