Hello,

I have performed several analysis with Maxent and I have this problem:

I want to obtain 10 replicates, but the software only performs one.
When it finish appears an error saying "error,
environmental layer (e.g bio1) is missing from the directory (C:\...)"
Obviously, the files are present in such directory.

Besides, IT DOESN'T SHOWs ME THE CONTRIBUTION OF EACH VARIABLE.

I have already: 1) Change the climate data base; 2) Change the
directory of the files; 3) Downloaded a previous version (3.3.3 a).
Nothing works...

I'm using the data base in .ascii. and accesing the software from DOS
to increase the RAM memory used (to 1.3Gb)

Please, anyone have an idea?
Thanks,

Chloe

I think I've had that message appear when I already have analysis
output from another model run for the same species name in the output
folder. Maybe try running your model with a new, empty output folder,
if you haven't done so already.

Hi Chloe, thanks for the answer.
I had already try what you told me (a new output folder), with no success.

It still appear that same sign ("bio1 layer is missing"), or sometimes "Java.IoException".

I'm using as "projection layers directory/file" the same folder that contains the environmental variables. Is this correct?.
So, why the software can't find the files to make the projection?

Thanks for your time,

Bye,

I got the same error, after running several times the model (but each
one in a different output folder.

Did you find the solution? I really appreciate if sombody post it.

Thanks,

Nel.

Is it possible that you are running out of space on your computer? The
output .asc files are quite large ...I ran into a space problem with
maxent and it gave me tons of Java errors.

I made a begginer mistake, because I was not making a projection (so
the folder was empty).

Anyway, thanks for all.

Hi Nel,

No, I have not found the solution yet, and I'm running out of ideas.

Any idea will be very welcome.

I'm currently having this same problem. Has anyone found a solution for this yet? I've looked all through the google group and have found this question often but so far no answers... Thanks!

Have you tried SWD format for presence and background, to narrow the problem down?

Saludos,

Hi Shelbi,

Thank you. I had the same problem and your solution works! "Lo que puedes tratar es dejar la linea "Projection layers directory/file" sin texto". Gracias.
