Hi,

I am very new at Maxent and I am using Version 3.3.3. I am attempting
to use black bear GPS locations to create a distribution probability
map that I can use to determine the best locations to set hair
snares. Whenever I run the program, I get an error that says "Layer
aspect is missing from F:\JONES\Maxent\MaxentBear\Results". The
aspect layer is the first on my list of layers, and the results folder
is just where I specified the output. At first I thought that there
was an issue with the aspect layer, so I removed it from my layers
folder. When I ran it again I got the same error for the layer droad,
which was the next on my list. Also, there are some problems with my
results. I still get a map image, but the output file maxentResults
is an empty Excel file and there are no response curves or jackknife
plots, even though I selected those options. Again, i am VERY new at
Maxent, so I am hoping I am just making a stupid mistake. If anyone
can help I would really appreciate it.

Thanks,
Mike

Hey Mike, did you ever solve this error? I'm trying to use very similar data and I'm getting the same error. It's been driving me crazy! I feel like I've tried everything and it must be something very simple. Hope you had some success figuring it out! Thank you!

The program wants to analyze the difference between two sets of environmental conditions.  If you are not comparing, say, the current or recent conditions with projected future conditions (for which you would put the projected conditions in the projections folder), you must put the current or recent conditions files (the ones you have in your input folder) in the projections folder as well, so it will compare the current/recent conditions with themselves.  I had this same problem, but when I did this, it worked!

Hello,
You will get this error if the geographic bound of your datasets are
not the same. Please ope the raster ascii formats one by one with
notepad and check as the ncols and nrows are the same.

good luck!
