Hi All,

When I run the niche breadth analysis using ENMtools I get an error
message "can't take log of zero..." for some of my habitat suitability
maps. Any ideas how I can fix this?

Thank you in advance for any help,

Chloe

The niche breadth metrics involve taking the log of the suitability
scores in each grid cell, and you can't take the log of zero. If you
have zeroes in your files, you have two choices - replace them with
very small (but nonzero) values, or replace them with nodata values.
Either way you should open up your .asc files in a text editor and
replace all zero values with the appropriate value. Be aware that
zeroes sometimes appear as 0E0, so you need to search and replace
those too.

I think some Fortran scripters were occasionally known to use -0 as a nodata string as well.

Hi,

I have a similar problem. I replaced all 0 values, and I still get the error message:

Found zero at line 6 column 0

The thing is line 6 has no columns, it is where the NODATA_value is specified.
What is going on?
I specified the NODATA value as -3.4028234663852885981e+38

Cheers,

Alejandra
