Best machine setup for running analyses.

Good evening, I hope you are well.

I've been away from research for a few years, but I'm returning to my PhD in this area. I would appreciate your input on your experiences. What machine, processing power, memory, and other factors would be most efficient for running analyses?

I don’t run with a video card at all (I use integrated graphics in my cpu) so don’t spend any big money on that! I have 64gb of ram but I think 32 gb is pretty much fine.
