I am a fairly new user to Maxent and was hoping that I could get some help understanding my results to a trial that I ran. I inserted LatLong data of a bird species within North America into my samples and current weather data with 2.5 Arc Minute Resolution into the environmental layers. The weather data is for the whole world while the LatLong was just for North America. I ran the trail keeping all the defaults in the settings the same with the exception of changing the replicates to 1000 times and making sure the "write output grids" was not checked so that I could just have the final results. After everything ran (which took a very long time) I received some interesting results. First of all, Maxent gives files explaining omissions and I am not sure what exactly this data means or to know if it is good or bad. I was hoping someone could clear that up for me. I am also unsure of how to read into the results file made to make sure everything ran smoothly. Finally, a Standard Deviation Map was constructed at the very end of my trial for all 1000 iterations. It basically shows hardly any deviation between all the data. Due to this I was wondering if it is in fact just showing the standard deviation and nothing else? Thanks for taking the time for reading this and sorry if these seem like dumb questions. I basically went into the Maxent world with not much of an introduction so anything will help. =)

Dear Michael
From your explain I see you use 1000 replications if you use replications this take a lot of time foe each and I think it is not necessary to use 1000 replication for each species, and 1000 iteration it OK to allow the maxent penalty of time to converge, and I think if you use environmental predictors just for area may be it is better this if you want to predict just for North America. And I am sorry I don't have much information because me too new student and I am new with maxent best luck.
