hello,

I am trying to install maxent and i am having this problem with java it seems as it keeps saying "'java' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.".

This is after i have opened the maxent.bat file, maxent was downloaded as a zip and unpacked into one file. The maxent.bat doesnt flash suggesting that its not the operating system interferring.

I have read a number of other posts and the help file explaining how to redirect java, but still wont work. I am wondering if it is due to the Java 67 (most recent 10/8/14) program file being too new for maxent (this is only a guess).

Can someone please help me out here.

I am using windows 7-64 bit and have over a terabyte of memory, so it is not hardware problems.

Cheers

Hi

I had the same problem, but then i saw on another post to try copying (not cutting) and pasting java.exe from the program files into the maxent folder and not everything works fine.

I had the same problem and Jennifer's solution worked for me as well. The java file I copied was within the "bin" folder in the Java folder.
