Hi everyone,
I took the Species Distribution modeling course last spring. I saved
the ArcGIS files that I was working on there, but I can not open them
because I have an older version of ArcGIS. Is there a way to get
around this issue without having to buy the new version of ArcGIS?
Thanks for any help!
Best,
Brittany

Hi Brittany

I think you are talking about the "projetct" (or .mxd) and not about the data (raster or shape files) on it self. I also get this problem when loading the .MXD on a ArcGis 9.3, modified something, overwrite the .MXD and tried to open the project on the ArcGis 9.2. I confess you that I don´t know the solution, but I am writing just to reinforce that it is realy a problem to other ones.

Good luck,

Hi everybody,

I think the only solution might be to find somewhere an ArcGIS 9.3,
open your mxd file and save a copy as: Document ArcMap 9.0/9.1.
This new copy will normally open in your ArcGis 9.2.
Good luck
Valerie

Just writing to confirm what Valerie said above. Once a .mxd (map
document) has been opened and saved with a newer version of ArcMap
then it is no longer compatible with previous versions (ArcGIS 9.1,
etc.). All of the data that the map document references though is
unaffected so you could just re-build the map document. If you know
someone with a newer version of ArcGIS then all they have to do is
open the document, File, Save a Copy, and change the Save as type to
ArcMap 9.0/9.1 Document. This could probably be done by just emailing
the .mxd file to someone with a newer version - though your path names
will likely have to be reassigned.

Hi:

I would like to make a projection of the climate change in a amphibian specie. I have seen that a lot of scenary exist (HadCM3, CSIRO, CCCma, CCSR/NIES, etc) but, what scenary are more useful? What scenary must be use to make a good projection?

Best regards.

Unha aperta,

Martiño
