Dear all MaxEnt users

I start working spatial distribution of an invasive species with MaxEnt.

As I read papers in this field, after preparing all variables and csv file, I should do a correlation between 19 bioclimatic variables of WorldClim

My question is how can I find data of 19 bioclimatic variables for correlation? where can i find data of 19 variables for analysis?

I really appreciate all of you

Dear Lale,

please consider CHELSA:
In my opinion and according to several papers they are better suited in heterogeneous terrain, i.e. in mountain ranges.

Cheers,
Rainer

thank you so much  Diego
but my question is how can i find the correlations between variables?
i added all 19 bioclimatic variables in Arcmap and use "band collection statistics"
i attached it
i want to know is that correct or i made a mistack? Also i dont know which one of variables should be delete?

Best regards,
Lale

thanks Rainer for your suggestion
i check Chelsea database but unfortunately in my case it doesn't have enough accuracy, for example bio1 in chelsea is -109 to 199 which is not correct for my site
Best regards,
Lale

Hello Gokwolf

I'm not familiar with land processes either with MaxEnt but one thing i'd consider is variables redundancy. 19 variables are to many i guess. It is that perhaps more than one variable would be telling you the same thing because of its physical meaning to the environment

Have a nice day

i can help you about that matter, if you send me presence points of the species...
do you think obly one variable responsible for every species's distribution?
no....
or.... udemy courses can help a lot...

Hello Lale.

First, you need to export to excel and use only the matrix for Correlation Matrix.
Second, after open in Excel you need to use the option in the bar: Conditional Formation > Highlight Cells Rules > Greater than and Less than (to verify negative values).
You need to specify the value to find in the table. Usually in the papers are used 0.9 or 0.75 to avoiding multicollinearity between variables. Thus, after the numbers (cells) selected, you get to see and choose the variables and avoiding multicollinearity.

However, I prefer to use the VIF analyze in R.

I hope this information to be useful.

Good lucky
