WorldClim version 2

Dear MaxEnt'ers

A couple of days ago, i see that worldclim has a new version of the data

http://worldclim.org/version2

Among temp/precip they provide solar radiation, wind speed and water vapor pressure.

The data are for testing and feedback only.

What is missing is the methodology for the new datasets as well as for the temp/precip.

Hope that soon the bioclim data will become readily available and a documentation on the ver 2 will become available to the community.

I second that! Exciting to see v2 out with new variables, but I'd really like to see some documentation.

A rigorous comparison with ver 1.4 show that ver 2 has lower values (i check areas in the Mediterranean for mean temp of January), better position accuracy - maybe due to the use of newer global DSM (STRM 30m or ASTERDEM ver 2).

Documentation is missing - hope soon to be add.

New bioclim variables (30 arc sec resolution) for the reference time period 1979-2013 should be availbale soon (at end of July).

Hi, Im having some problems to download Worldclim version2. Once I have the zip files and try to unzip an error occurs for some months. Precipitation 08 month, Tmax 07 month and Vapor pressure 01 month. Did you have some problem with this? I tried different zip packages and still not working. Thanks
