error message "out of memory

I am trying to use Maxent to study possible invasions of tephritid
fruitflies from Africa
If i Use files from worldclim at 2.5' resolution of all the world I
get this errore message:
"Please refer to help button:java.lang.Out of MemoryError:Javaheap
space.
Is there somebody that knows how to solve the problem?
Has to do it with my computer ram memory?
Is there a solution?

Hi,

Try cleaning out your temp files, that always works for me when I get
that message.

Hi Antonio,

Your problem is memory. 

Maxent.bat assumes that your computer has at least 512 megabytes of

memory.  If this is not the case, you should edit the file (for

example, using Notepad) to increase the amount of memory it requests.  If your computer has more

than 512 megabytes of memory, you should increase the amount described

in the file.  For example, if your computer has a gigabyte of memory,

replace the number "512" with "900" (leaving a little for other

programs).  However, if your computer is running Microsoft Windows,

there is unfortunately an upper limit of about 1.3 gigabytes that

Windows can give to Java.

Hi Antonio,
I have the same problem like you (using MaxEnt under Windows Vista) but now I have intalate a Linux platform and MaxEnd runs perfectly, without any errors.
You can try this solution :)
