Hello,

I made for myself a m2e nar connector for eclipse which automatically creates CDT projet and updates it when the configuration changes in the pom. Many functionality are missing but it works enough to be usable nevertheless.

Currently it is a personnal project, with my domain name as groupId and java packages, a deployment to a personnal server as a p2 repository to retrieve the plugin from eclipse, a lots of TODOs, some code commented, and some french comments on the commits.
Plus it is my first plugin for eclipse, and my first project configurator, so it must no be in the state of the art.

But, it should be very useful for those who works on eclipse, so I want to promote and improve it, but I don't want to manage it all on my own with the issues and pull requests.

So my proposition is that I change the maven projects from my groupId to com.github.maven-nar.m2e, same thing for the java packages, and you create a new repository m2e-nar along with the other repositories of the organization maven-nar to host those m2e projects and make them live.

Of course in that case I will also continue to work on those projects, but I think they will be more visible and will be better managed than if I keep them on my own.
The main pitfall I see is that there should be a public p2 repository to host the plugin to get it from eclipse (a web server where we can upload files is sufficient as it is just jar files that eclipse must download), but in short term we can load the plugin in eclipse directly from the hard drive where it has been generated, but only those who build the projects will have the plugin in this case ...

So, is it possible ?

Regards,
Dugilos / Jef

Hi Jef,

Just ran across this old thread, lost in my inbox. Sorry for the long delay in reply.

In the meantime, a similar project was just migrated into the maven-nar organization; see:

If you are still developing related things, maybe you want to combine efforts there?

Regards,
Curtis
