assalamu Aa'likum wa rahmatu Allah

We have been preparing for Friday project, I hope you and the youth will be at the Masjid. The plan is to build the raised bed and plant it.
I will be in travel, however, Tamberly from my staff will be there, and Mike Hill who you know.  They both drive a long distance to come and help with the project for the benefits of our mosque; I hope they will not be disappointed. Sis Kimberly has accepted to be on site. Mike and Tamberly planning to be there before 5:30.

We need a volunteer to buy the landscape timber, I'll send specifications, if I was not able to, just get 2X4 landscape nontreated timber to build at least one bed. I have not received the notes from the youth, so I don't have the dimensions, if I remember it was three sides, two of the sides are 5 ft each and one is 15 ft, these numbers need to be checked out with the note taker.

I also have received $200 for the green project, so I'll re-imburse the cost of timber.

Pls let me know who would buy the timber, and how many kids/youth will be attending. for young kids, that can't be hammering, we can have a planting of seeds project.

I leave you in the protection of Allah

Tamberly, this plant list is good list, I am not familiar with the fairy bluegrass, could you tell me a little about it.
Mike these plants may be too large for the planter, but I believe if they are well situated they will do well and have an effect of a vase, with large plants in the middle and smaller type on the edge.

I need to know how many landscape timbers I need to have at hand. mike could you have an estimate. or should I come up with one?
Cheers and safe travel, Best regards

Hello Mike,

It was great to chat with you this morning!  I talked to Martin about the landscape timbers and he purchased his from Lowe's.  Apparently, they are not treated with arsenic - so said the vendor.  I have included a list of plants that are available for planting on Friday but it is not necessary to use all if we do not have the space or the time.   Some may be used at a later date of in another project.    I tried to order more plants from North Creek Nursery however, they could not send the order prior to our planting so we will go with what we have currently and then allow for the folks at the Mosque to select the additional plants with your direction.  Also, Kristy notified us of a couple of native plant sales this weekend so it may be that a member of the Mosque garden planning committee would be interested in purchasing from one of those locations as well.

The current plant list includes:

6- lemon queen sunflowers
18- goldenrods
6 - claire grace
18- fairy bluegrass
23 - milkweeds (swamp and horsetail)

These are all plugs from North Creek.  Most seem to be fairly hearty.

Please let me know if you will need assistance in picking up any of the materials(timbers, screws/bolts, gravel, etc.).  Safiya may have one of the elders in mind to complete this task.

I plan to arrive to the Mosque early so that you and I can go over the plan in more detail.  Please let me know what time  will be best for you.  Please contact me on my cell if you cannot reach me in the office.

I hope your training went well today and that your stay in Portland is fruitful.  Best wishes for safe travels upon your return.

Best,

Tamberly
