29) Explain how this scene is characterized by hope.
While reading these 9 pages, there are various examples of hope. First
in being when Linda tells Willy , that their two sons are taking their
father out to dinner(Miller 74). This characterizes hope as we
recently learned in Act 1 of Biff's tense relationship with Willy,
however now both sons are offering to take him out to dinner. Giving
the audience hope that their relationship may grow .
Hope is also apparent on page 75 - 76 with Linda. When she is
explaining to Biff how Willy had gotten rid of the rubber pipe. Her
excitement gives the audience a sense of hope of how she is so excited
that Willy may actually be happy and will forget about his failures.
Linda is also happy that he is in a good mood today and perhaps it
will continue.
