# 8 Explain the significance of the woods as a symbol in the play?

The significance of the woods in this play symbolizes Willy constantly
reminding Biff that he needs to get a more successful job. Also when
will says "woods are burning, I cant even drive a car", he means that
his life is closing in on him. This statement suggests that time is
running out for Willy, whereas Ben has conquered the jungle of life.
Last but not least the jungle may also represent a sign of money.
