Q#24: what realistic picture does Linda present to Biff,Happy, and
Willy?
A: Linda is trying to make it clear to her sons on how distant they
have become from their father. she talks to them about how Willy is
so angry when ever Biff is around and how both Biff and Happy have
treated him horribly. she blames them for not respecting Willy as they
should be. on pg 57, Linda talks to her sons about how Willy is never
appreciated and implies at how hard the Great depression is affecting
him. she is fighting to support her husband so much that it seems
like she wants to hide his faults to make her self feel better. she
basically accepts the way that Willy treats her because she knows that
hes going through a hard time and doesnt want to loose him. the fact
that Biff doesnt not have a job just adds on to Willy's frustration
which angers Linda even more.
please add on if I have missed something. there are so many useful
quotes in this section so keep a marker from pages 51-69 for future
refernces :)

#25 Why do you think Biff feels that doing what he enjoys as a living
is unacceptable?
Because Biff is never satisfied. He gets bored too easily. He has
never held a steady job. He thinks at first that this is what he
wants to do, but then he gets bored and does something stupid to get
himself fired. He wants to stay at home, but then he gets bored there
and wants to start looking for another job. I think he is aware that
he is doing because he says he is not ready for a kind of life (pg
54).

Also look at what makes Biff think that his "living" is unacceptable.
Willy believes that it is unacceptable because he does not make enough
money - again - according to Willy. Biff still holds onto his father's
views - and those of his society. Biff does not believe it is the
career of a man and this idea has to come from somewhere.

Good work Marisa - I also think that Linda makes the boys realize that
their father lives for them. As mentioned in Olivia's question - Willy
lacked a father/male role model and therefore Willy wants to provide
more for his boys. He is unsure of himself but regardless - his number
one priority in life has been becoming a 'success' in order to provide
for his family - for his sons AND to teach them the right ways in
life.
