In view of Secretary Kerry's determined and energetic efforts to
achieve an agreement between Israel and the PA, it is timely to
realize that the stubborn refusal by Mahmoud Abbas to recognize
Israel as a Jewish state, his objection to an Israeli presence in the
Jordan valley and his insistence on removal of ALL "settlements" east
of the Green Line directly oppose exhortations by President Obama.
