Set in a massive metropolis on Floating Island that seems to have a never-ending carnival going on during the nighttime, Carnival Night Zone is full of lights, balloons, tilting cannons and giant rotating barrels.
Carnival Night Zone is a zone on Angel Island originally constructed by Dr. Eggman's forces while they were repairing the crashed Death Egg. Despite being an Eggman construct, the carnival still remains on the island to this day.
Construction on the carnival, alongside the Death Egg's repair work, was overseen by Eggman's assistant Dr. Julian Snively while his boss was away working on other schemes. The carnivals construction made the Death Egg's repairs considerably slower as forces were spread between the two, but Eggman insisted the zone was "tactically important". (StH: #290)
Carnival Night Zone is the fourth Zone in Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (or Sonic the Hedgehog 3 & Knuckles). It is very similar to Casino Night Zone from Sonic the Hedgehog 2, but with a carnival theme. The Zone is a playful carnival filled with balloons, pinball bumpers and cannons to launch from, although unlike Casino Night Zone, there are no slot machines. Coincidentally, Casino Night Zone is also the fourth zone in Sonic the Hedgehog 2.
