The first season received 62,000 aspirants from India, out of which 198 businesses were selected to pitch their ideas to the "sharks".[3] Out of 198 investment pitches at the reality TV show, 67 businesses got deals this season.[4]
Season 2 aired on Sony LIV and Sony Entertainment Television from 2 January 2023 to 10 March 2023. The second season featured Amit Jain, CEO and Co-founder of CarDekho group, InsuranceDekho.com as a new shark.[1] Rahul Dua was the host of the season.[2]
This season introduced various special segments like Beyond the Tank, which followed the progress and journey of the entrepreneurs who appeared in the previous season and their businesses, and Swimming with the Sharks, which traced the sharks personal and professional lives off-camera.
While preparing for the show, it gave me an opportunity to go deeper into my business and understand where we have lacked and need to improve, one area being customer retention ratio. Of all the sharks, I would like to sincerely thank Anupam Mittal for the honest and constructive feedback he gave (some part of it was again edited). Anupam, I am happy to share that after the episode was shot in November, we have started focusing on customer retention and adopted some strategies that have started showing results. We have tweaked our end user pricing and introduced subscription renewal incentives and as a result our renewal ratio has increased by 2X straightaway. Our fleet utilization is improving and we are on track to achieving optimum utilisation in a few weeks in all our cities and start growing from there! And with new features being added to our app, a rewards and recognition program in the works, we are looking to accelerate our growth from here.
The last pitch will come from one of the judges of the show, Vineeta Singh who will be asking for investment for her cosmetics brand Sugar. Last season, it was Peyush Bansal who sought investment for his brand Lenskart in the final episode.
