Strictly the bare ownCloud server with required components. Great for updating the core without overwriting apps that you would like to keep in their current state. Install the complete bundle as shown above to get all available apps and extensions as well as an easy Enterprise trial.

Welcome to the ownCloud Server documentation. These documents provide an admin guide with information for installation, configuration and administrative tasks as well as documentation for developers. An ownCloud User Manual for the server is provided in the web documentation.

Here, you will see the automatically obtained network configuration if you have a DHCP server in your network. If not - you will have to set this yourself. You can also enter an alternate DNS server if you need one.

Completely new to owncloud and finding it confusing. I work in a hospital so I dont have much experience but willing to learn. First question I have is when I install owncloud, I am prompted for a server address and have NO clue what that is supposed to be nor can I find anything about what it should be other than experienced people on the net who have downloaded additional programs to go along with owncloud where this value is filled in.

My goal for owncloud is to use it to share files between me and colleagues. Can owncloud do this? By "this" I mean I want them to access my files as if it is their local C drive rather than emailing a link everyday with changes. I am using windows 10 and my collegues are scattered all around my city.

from your posting (which has btw. too much text with too less information) it seems you have only installed the sync client. This is useless until you're also installing a server (see doc.owncloud.org).

How to find that out is something you need to know on your own. Running an ownCloud server needs at least basic network knowledge. Teaching those is far out of the scope of a support forum for a software.

Hi,
Reading your description I would suspect that there is some problem connecting to your owncloud.
Can you explain a little more about your network setup? Is it a self-hosted ownCloud behind some router vs a publicly accessible instance?

I assume you have installed your ownCloud server on a RaspberryPi (RPi) inside your network, probably connected via Ethernet, your phone is connected to the WiFi via the same router & WiFi access point (box).

The next step is to test DNS, so try to resolve the hostname (cloud.rpi.l) on the phone, for example by pinging the hostname. Perhaps you have some kind of configurable DNS server in your box (or somewhere else [is your phone using that one?]), which needs to be set up correctly. How do you resolve that hostname on your PC? Hosts file?

As far as I understood it, I thought that @lapourgagner has his own DNS, where the hostname is configured, and a DHCP server, which sets the DNS server for the clients on the network, but Android keeps ignoring it still.

So I found out, I needed to disable nginx for this domain. and I wa sable to login.
But it was only my dummy user. So i logged out,
and now the client dont find my server ( Can not download my ).

I have installed owncloud to our VMware which manages all our company servers. I have downloaded the OwnCloud desktop app and it says to enter the server address. So I added the OwnCloud IP address which shows on our VMware but it dosent recognise that host, could you help me with this. I thought I try adding the ISO file again.

Second question - is your ownCloud Virtual Machine set to Bridged Mode? If yes, it will get a normal local IP from the router and you can access it. It should look like 192.168.178.55 or 172.41.16.22
Then you would just have to enter in your desktop client 192.168.178.55/owncloud and you could use ownCloud.

I have my own 9.0.4 installation, and it has been working perfectly on OSX 10 and various Androids, but today I installed the client in my IOS 10 iPhone, and I only got "server not found". After some troubleshooting I found that the IOS client was requesting '/status.php' from the webserver, and not /owncloud/status.php as it should have done. I linked the owncloud status.php into the location from client app request, and now it connected fine. I had to do the same with remote.php to Get authentication to work. From then on the Owncloud IOS client worked perfectly.

i don't think that this needs to be solved at all within the client. If the iOS client has requested /status.php and not /owncloud/status.php you probably have configured a wrong base url to your oC instance within the client.

The docker container inherits the nameserver settings from the UCS host. That host has to have a nameserver configured, that is capable of resolving UCS domain servers. Set the UCR variable nameserver1 on your UCS host to such a server and retry the installation. The default setting would be the domaincontroller master.

Somehow the nameserver settings are not correctly applied to the docker container. Please check the nameserver settings inside the container:
univention-app shell owncloud82 ucr search --brief nameserver,forwarder cat /etc/resolv.conf ping -c 1 $(ucr get nameserver1)

Hi,
I have successfully installed a Letsencrypt certificate for an owncloud server using the auto --apache method. I am running a Debian 8 system and use Webmin to administer the system.
The Owncloud web service is functioning correctly under HTTPS. However, I am now not able to gain access to my webmin web interface. Firefox throws up a warning of an untrusted cert (the default webmin one) and does not give the option to add an exemption. The lets encrypt certificate that is installed for the owncloud service is for hostname.domainname.co.uk.
The Webmin access is from a URL with the same name above with :port number.
I am not sure what to do to get the Webmin access back. Do I need to replace the default Webmin self signed certificate with a copy of the lets encrypt one?
Any ideas on how to resolve the issue would be greatly received.
