Has anyone found out more about this dog and helped it yet? I’m confused what’s happening with this dog?

The dog was hit in front of Adams house in Petrolia. Local vets are closed for the holiday. Xrays can be done here, but any surgery is referred to Santa Rosa. One has to have the means to go there, and pay for that. The referral may include a claim of financial hardship, but that is up to the Santa Rosa outfit to accept or not. Our dog Rue was struck by a driver 10-12 years ago (who didnt stop) I drove her to an X-Ray in Ferndale, then directly to Santa Rosa, where you don't really know what the cost will be until after a week of recovery. In Rue's case, it was $8,000.
I will opine here that the 35 MPH speed limit is absolutely ridiculous where it is posted. Its up to all of us to ignore these wastes of County money, and remember that that is only an absolute maximum, and NOT A RECOMMENDED SPEED, and drive at a reasonable speed given the conditions. Each 35 MPH sign is in an area where even 25 mph feels a little fast.

Hello Ocean my name is Duane
I was the school cook at Mattole
From 2016 till 2019. I'm friends with Adam. As Adam is unable to send an email I'll explain I'm sure you know Bean was hit 2 days ago.
She really needs to be rehomed
She'll need someone else who can financially be able to care for her.
Adams willing to let her go
Unfortunate situation...wish I were there to assist Adam and Bean
However I'm in New York.
If you could ask around and see if anyone could help that would be a blessing. Thanks Duane

So, in short. The dog needs to be seen by a vet and x-rayed. Adam does not have the means to do this himself, and is willing to give Bean (the dog) up to someone who can afford her potentially large medical bill and ongoing care during her recovery.

Does that sound accurate?

I called Sunnybrae Vet and if  Bean just needs splinting for the broken leg they can do it today. If the injury requires screws and orthopedic surgery they can do it during regular hours

Bean was seen by Sunnybrae Vet today and was diagnosed with a fractured pelvis after X-rays were taken. The vet said Bean needs to stay confined with complete rest in order for it to heal. She is eating and drinking  and seems to be otherwise in good spirits. The vet prescribed gabapentin and an anti-inflammatory and Adam is tending to her presently, though he may still be open to rehoming her given his circumstances. The remainder of the vet bill after Adam put $200 down is $435.36 that was put on my care credit card.

There is a container at the store for helping out with Bean's veterinary expenses.
Much appreciated, as is any help you can offer Adam toward her care.

Thank you all,
❤️ Susan

Susan, you do not need this added expense in your life due to your kind heart.

People, please throw down some cash for Susan (which means for Bean, and so also for Adam). I'm glad there's a jar at the store. If that doesn't bring in enough, someone should post a Go Fund Me.

Thank you for taking this on, Susan! Poor Bean!

I agree with Laura Cooskey. It appears you arrived home late last night, Susan. You must be so tired. Plus, you have to go to work today.

Wonder Woman.

Thank God Bean has been seen by a vet.

Thank you Susan!
