The Mattole Valley Resource Center is seeking a
Knowledge and Other Requirements:
Playgroup Leader
Position Reports To: Executive Director
Supervises: None
Job Status: Part Time (Approx. 4 hours/week)
Salary: Starting wage $20.00/hr
Duties:
-Maintains confidentiality of individual, child, and family information.
-Helps community members access services, schedule appointments, and find necessary transportation.
-Schedules and manages playgroups.
-Supports Director in building strong school and community relationships.
-Participates as an active member of the core resource center team.
-Maintains accurate tracking data and other records, as needed.
-Responds appropriately to health and welfare needs of community members.
-Attends trainings as needed.
Provide regular updates to Director on programs and activities.
Other duties as assigned.

Summary: Under the direction of the MVRC Executive Director, the Playgroup Specialist has the responsibility of running weekly playgroups. Assists Director in maintaining a warm, caring, supportive environment in the Resource Center, and interacts constructively and positively with children, families, individuals, staff, and service providers in both group and individual settings.
Duties:

-Helps community members access services, schedule appointments, and find necessary transportation.

Preferred Education/Experience:
-Bachelors in ECE, Psychology, Social Work or related field.
-Experience: Two years related work experience
Knowledge and Other Requirements:
-Community agencies functions and responsibilities
-Ethnic and cultural diversities
-Programs and services for at risk students and individuals, children and families
-Substance abuse issues and their impact on individuals, families and the community
-Parenting and family coping skills
-Computer word processing skills
-Certificates: Valid California Class C Driver’s License.
-Reliable transportation
