Survey on establishing a Co-op to own and operate Petrolia General Store

Hi all:

As Laura Cooskey mentioned in a post a few weeks ago (thank you, Laura), a small group has begun exploring the possibility of establishing a community cooperative to buy and operate the Petrolia store, and thereby enable Denise's well-earned retirement. Three of us met with Denise last week to get the conversation started, and a fourth member of our incipient cabal designed a survey to gauge community interest, willingness, and capacity to make this happen.

Please fill out the survey: https://forms.gle/LLVhD7QnDeCcWuts7, it should only take 10 minutes. Your answers are anonymous unless you choose to share your contact info at the end.

The survey will be live until next Monday, November 3, so do it now while it's still fresh. There are 1216 members of this Google group, and I hope to see at least 50% participation! 

Once the results are in and analyzed, we'll organize a community meeting at the Community Center to present the results of the survey, engage a wider group in the conversation, and hopefully recruit more people with the needed skills to do the hard work of making a community co-op a reality, assuming we have the level of interest and engagement we need.

Good morning, Mattolites!

We have 49 responses to the survey so far, which is more than twice as many as yesterday morning's count. Progress, but still only a 4% response rate. I've had a few people tell me how exciting it is to be able to offer "blue sky" ideas in the survey for new goods and services that a Co-op could offer our community, so let's hear from more of you.
