My Boston pickling cucumbers are starting to produce and I have more than enough to sell / trade. Let me know if you are interested in placing an order $3 a lb. Orders will be filled in the order they are received. Peek harvest time for me will be Aug-September

Do you have any idea how much a lug of cucumbers weigh? I have never weighed cucumbers before making pickles, but that is usually how many I need. I have a craving for some home made beard and butters! I have not had any good ones in a long time. I'm also looking for beets to pickle. :) Joyce

Hi Joyce :) A lug is usually in reference to the size (dimensions) of a box. So naturally this would vary based on the contents. My research would say that a lug of cucumbers is around 30 pounds. When I had a bigger farm we would sell them by the bushel (48lb for $100) and half bushel (24lb for $50). I also may have beets for you in a few weeks, let me know the quantity you are after and I can reserve them for you. I will also be producing bread and butters and garlic dills for the market if you want to skip the processing ;)
