Git yer 'bama on, y'all! It's New Years Peas...
This Sunday at the farmers market, I'll be serving up heaping bowls of traditional black-eyed peas from a recipe given to me by my old friend Joe, a good ole' boy from Alabama. I'll offer two options, the traditional with plenty of bacon and butter, and a vegan version for PETA rebels among us. Either one topped with vegan collared greens. Normally I'd include cornbread, but I don't want to compete with Nancy's amazing baking. $10 suggested, or donate what you can.
Okay, I realize the real tradition is to serve these on January 1, but I missed the 1st, so I've doubled down to do it on January 11.
