Hello Mattole, On Friday, October 12th, the MVCC will be showing the film NO OTHER LAND. It won Best Documentary at the Academy Awards this year. It is about Gaza, pre October 7th, but is evidently relevant to today. I haven’t seen it yet but hear it is amazing. The showing will be at 7:00 p.m. at the Community Center. Save the date.

This film is totally worthwhile, a look at the life of a young, intelligent, committed, Palestinian man who recorded the film on his cell phone, sometimes while running—also about his friendship with an equally committed Israeli man. You will see what the Gaza strip actually looks like!

Although the film won international awards, its showing has been blocked in large theaters of the US. The filmmaker was killed by a settler near his home last month.
