...and mine, with the lightning this afternoon.  This is NOT the system
used between the 'Dew to Petrolia and surroundings, but the Frontier
lines we inherited from GTE, ConTel, Verizon and possibly another one
which was let fail from lack of money or an abundance of neglect, with
few parts to find for the antiquated copper-line system...and is to sell
us back to Verizon within the next few years.

This is the second time I've lost a phone (also lost an engine dispatch
radio), but I was lucky to have been married to a lineman/same-day
repair guy), recently retired from GTE in SoCal.
