Today, via USPS, I received an unsolicited offer for my property from Granite RIVER Construction (not to be confused with Granite Construction), a real estate investment company. They included a [laughable] Purchase Agreement.
Now this is where I became concerned.
No. I'm not interested in selling my property, but I don't want friends or neighbors (especially senior citizens) taken by any unscrupulous person, business, or organization.
I was curious how did Granite River Construction have my mailing address. Answer: Humboldt County Assessor's office. Fair enough. But was the offer 'fair'? NO. It was about 10% of what my property is probably worth.
After doing a little research on this company through the BBB, I discovered the company was also known as Aldea Construction, Mr. Lonita "Lon" Aldea, CEO and Ms. Michelle Aldea, Secretary, General Contractors in Roseville, California, were started on 11/7/2008, then incorporated in 2014. They have been accredited with the BBB since 1/19/2023 with an A- rating although you wouldn't think it from all the negative comments on the BBB's site. Granite River Construction's responses were all very dignified and informative.
Again, I am not selling nor am I interested in selling my
property. If you are interested in selling your property, please speak
to your attorney or a local reliable realtor who can advise you before
you 'sign on the dotted line' and end up with seller's remorse.
