Dear Matthew, The new health care law is about to take effect. Are you ready? We're here to help. You know that Working America is the leading advocate for working families, and we've spent ten years fighting for good jobs, strong communities and affordable health care. We understand that a lot of things are changing with health care, and that it can be confusing. That's why we're committed to providing you the best information available. The first thing you need to know: The new law can be really good for you and your family. Starting Jan. 1, 2014, you'll most likely be required to have insurance, but there may be help available to make sure you and your family can afford it. Through the new Health Insurance Marketplace, which begins taking applications on Oct. 1, 2013, you'll be able to find insurance that you can afford and that fits your needs. With one application, one time, you'll be able to find and enroll in a health care plan that works for you and your family. You'll see what your choices are, what you'll pay, and what you'll get, before you enroll. The law will have new benefits to protect you and make sure you can get the care you need. You may be eligible for a tax credit that lowers your monthly premiums-or even a $0 premium. Want more information? Sign up here.
