Welcome to Math Trek, the Cary's own mathematics, movement and photography game! Come play with us, grow your math eyes, and start noticing mathematics everywhere!

We are meeting today at the parking lot of Umstead Park, off Harrison Avenue Exit from I-40. We are playing with the topic of gradients - the fall leaves are excellent for it.
  • The game is free and open to all ages.
  • Email your Trek photos to math...@posterous.com (you can do it during or after games)
  • Bring your cameras
  • Bring snacks and water
  • Dress comfortably to move around
  • If you like surprises, don't look at the attached game sheet - this is what we are playing today

You can see past photos and game sheets at http://mathtrek.posterous.com/

Cheers,

Hi everyone.

I am helping Maria out with entering the Cary Christmas Parade and organizing the event. The parade will be on Saturday, December 10 at 2:00. I am not sure yet how early folks should arrive.

We hope that those of you who have been inspired by Maria and her magical math ways (or the other magic she shares) will join us in representing Natural Math at the parade. We plan on being more than your average group of walkers (after all, what is average about Maria?) and will have activities to keep the kids engaged as we parade through Cary and spread the word about Natural Math and Growing Your Math Eyes!

If you are interested in joining us as Natural Math paraders, please email me and let me know how many in your family will be joining us. We plan to submit the application on Monday, October 24, so please respond by Monday at noon. If you don't read this email by Monday and are still interested in parading, no worries - we will be sure there is room for you to join us. We just need to give the official parade organizers and idea of how big our group will be.

Hope to see lots of you there!

Laura and Maria
