We had great time searching for SQUARES&FRIENDS at the Kids Together park yesterday. The next meeting is at 10am Tuesday February 8th at the Observation Deck of the RDU Airport!

Here are a few fun info pieces about the game:

  • Adding tags ("naming of things") is a great activity for reflection on ideas.
  • How to tag and geotag your pictures: http://www.flickr.com/help/organizr/
  • You can make up your own tags and add them to pictures if you notice more math

  • You can insert slide shows from the group or individual quests into your sites or blogs.
  • Please make your pictures public so they show up in slide shows http://www.flickr.com/help/privacy/
  • It takes about 2 days for your pictures to appear in slide shows.

  • Share your "a-ha" moments, questions that came up, stories about kids in each photo's Description.
  • Tag photos that have descriptions with the tag "story" so we can find them (Level 3 achievement)
  • Stories help to reflect on your personal learning and growth

  • You can tag other people's photos and add comments to them, similar to Facebook
  • You can add notes directly on top of the photo by dragging a frame with your mouse. You can see other people's notes if you mouse over the picture.
  • For example, here I added a note about concave polygons to Sauron's photo http://www.flickr.com/photos/59007277@N05/5408652324/
