Hello,
Math Trek is an alternate reality game where you grow math eyes by noticing and photographing. You can find all the game info and past game materials here:
http://naturalmath.wikispaces.com/MathTrekResearchTriangle
You can join at any time. Next meeting is at the Raleigh Museum of Natural History, which has the free homeschool day in the Grossology exhibit. Meet outside on the museum stairs at 10am on February 22nd, go photograph things, then meet outside again at 11am to compare notes, have a snack and discuss.
Can you notice a line that wants to be infinite? How does covariation look like to a seven-year-old and her mom? Why is it so hard to define inscribed shapes? Come and find out!
Cheers,
Maria Droujkova
