Hello,

Math Trek games are starting! They are all-age, outdoor games for kids and parents that help them grow their math eyes. Together, we step into the alternate reality of seeing mathematics everywhere! Parents enjoy themselves (sometimes for the first time ever as far as math goes) and report that kids continue to play long after the meetings: three-year-olds on giggling scavenger hunts for different kinds of angles, or teens starting deep discussions on the metaphorical meanings of symmetry. Join the fun and invite friends!

At the kickoff, Brad Herring will film "MATH TREK, THE MOVIE"! Many of you know him as the organizer of Periodic Tables, the excellent science cafe in Durham. Brad is a professional videographer. We are on a mission to help people around the world to start their own Trek groups, since many already asked how. The movie will also help us find sponsors to keep the program free. We just received a grant last week that covers the Fall - excellent grant writing, Laura!

Please come to star in the movie, whether you are a Trek veteran or want to check it out. We need more good movies about homeschooling math.
