Dear all,

Here is a site that needs to be experienced, rather than read about. Zoom from the edge of the universe to the quantum foam of space-time and learn about everything in between.

http://htwins.net/scale2/scale2.swf?bordercolor=white

Do visit and enjoy.

Dear Manjunath Sir,
I deeply thank you for the link you've  sent with your last mail. Universe is horrible! Unfathomable! Mostly unlimited.  But we try to measure the Nature with our tiny scale of reason. We view It with our limited power of sight. We experience It with our limited senses. Though we are a part of this Nature we homo-sapiens feel that we are the ultimate  masters of the Universe : largely with our petty wishes and  rusty dogmas. Never have we sat alone on the open ground with our eyes rooted in the deep sky and thought for a while as to how all these have ever been created or wondered at its vast space.

I was really mesmerized while  viewing  the flash file which has every description in a nutshell  about the entirety of the visible or cognizable Universe. It is treat to the eyes of Science teachers and Math teachers as well.
The awesome file was created by Cary Huang, a 14-year-old ninth grader from Moraga, Calif., with technical help from his twin brother Michael.
How intelligent and knowledgeable these boys must be! How wonderful might be their study , learning and guidance by their teachers! The boy says

"My seventh grade science teacher showed us a size comparison video on cells, and I thought it was fascinating. I decided to make my own interactive version that included a much larger range of sizes," said Cary in an email forwarded by his mother. "It was not a school project -- just for fun. However, my science teacher loved it so much she showed [it] to the class! My brother, Michael, helped me put it on the internet."

Just go through the link:
http://abcnews.go.com/Technology/page/scale-universe-cary-michael-huang-california-high-school-15573968

I am happy to admit that I had such boys during the academic year 2004-05, who created a slide presentation of the then Tsunami incorporating vedio, images, sound and other multimedia technologies as a project with their  own views ideas, and eventually secured a state award. Now I rarely find such students who keep themselves engrossed in a topic and make further research. Rather, reading for tests and getting pass marks  is common scene now everywhere.
I hope  history will repeat when new computers arrive at our school this year!

Regards.

Dear Tharanath sir,

So inspiring to read the story of the twin boys and your students... am sure with the computers and internet there will be many more such occassions in our schools!!  I request all teachers to continue their own experimenting with their computers (school/home/neighbours) to learn new software applications, explore new websites etc so  you can guide your students in the coming academic year....

warm regards
Guru
