Dear Mathsoc,

I'm not sure to whom I should reply personally (I know that you have a new
President and possibly a new Secretary). Anyway, I wanted to thank you
very much indeed for both the flowers for my wife, which are now adorning
our kitchen, and also the bottle of malt whisky, which I shall most
certainly enjoy over the next while. We enjoyed playing enormously last
night; there was a delightful atmosphere in the room. We always enjoy
playing for students but mathematics stduents are rather special!

I hope that the evening continued in the convivial way that it was when we
left the hotel and that no-one was feeling too exhausted today.

As I only have the above generic email address, I'd be grateful if whoever
reads this makes sure that it is passed on the both last year's and this
year's committee members.

As I say, Judith and I are most grateful for the flowers and the bottle of
malt.
