I'm free all wednesday so I can do wednesday from 11 till 3pm at the mathsbase. I'm also free monday and tuesday at 1pm at JCMB/ Central.

We should sell the tickets where people usually sell cakes in the JCMB (between the lecture theatres and the cafe).

We should all do shout outs in our lecture(s) and we need someone to cover 1st years.

Im free monday to sell at kb 1-2pm. We will need to locate a table which should be no problem. I've sorted the menu - I spoke to a guy at the Radisson and he explained that we would need to pay the same set price for the vegetarian menu aswell since this price also includes tea/coffee and butter tablet, which if we ordered the veggie courses individually then those people wouldn't get this service. So we've got two starters, 3 mains and two desserts. He's going to put the menu on a page and email me it which I'll photocopy and bring along on Monday.

Ok guys, here is my draft email for the tickets,
if you have anything you wish to change (wrong facts/stylistically) or add please let me know and i'll send the email off tomorrow morning.

Dear Mathematicians,

The Maths Society Ball is taking place on Friday the 25th March at the Radisson Hotel situated on the Royal Mile.  The evening will begin at 7pm with a sparkling wine reception.  It will continue with a three course meal, a ceilidh with the Maths Ceilidh Band and a disco to finish the night off.  Ticket prices are £32 for members and £37 for non-members.  We will be selling tickets throughout next week at the JCMB, so look out for our stall in the hallway during lunchtimes (around 12.15-2pm each day).  For first years we will also be selling tickets on Wednesday  from 11am-3pm in the Maths Base.  As well as bringing money don't forget to bring your mathsoc membership card with you when you buy your ticket so that you get your discount.  Tickets are in limited supply and will be sold on a first come fist serve basis.  This is always a fantastic event, and we look forward to seeing you there :)
Kind Regards,

Mathsoc

Also could you email me the times you are free this week?  I can do Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 12.15-2pm at JCMB.  In particular can anyone help David on Wednesday in Central?  Ideally we want at least 2 people at any time we are selling tickets.

I'll make a facebook event for it after Jonathan has sent out the emails. Also is it till 1am and will we be charged extra if they set up a bar?

Thanks, that seems perfect now, i'll send that off...
Another thing about the dj, In my opinion if we can afford it we should go with the £240 guy, it would be a lot simpler as we wouldn't need to worry about lighting and he would probably be a bit more professional.

Great! I don't think we've decided yet- we don't need to sell them for a while.
They said we have to leave by 1am though we may still be able to negotiate something.
I guess this leaves scope for some kind of afterafterparty?

We have the room until 1am. We haven't fully discussed prices for the after dinner tickets. When I've done rough calculations I was using £5/£8, but I think either this or something like £5/£10 would be reasonable. I think anything over £10 is getting too expensive, even for non-members. If people want to have a think about this then we can decide prices on Monday.
