Can you name the mathematician who had a bad stammer in the company of
grown up people and who spoke perfectly well in the company of
children?

Looking for a clue: British Mathematician, taught at Christ Church,
Oxford.

It is Charles Lutwidge Dodgson (January 27, 1832 - January 14, 1898),
better known by the pen name Lewis Carroll British author,
mathematician, logician, Anglican clergyman and photographer.
His most famous writings are Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and its
sequel Through the Looking-Glass, as well as the comic poem The Hunting
of the Snark.

His facility at word play, logic, and fantasy has delighted audiences
ranging from the most naïve to the most sophisticated. His works have
remained popular since they were published and have influenced not only
children's literature, but also a number of major 20th century writers
such as James Joyce and Jorge Luis Borges.

Lewis Carroll has worldwide societies in many parts of the world
including North America, Japan, the United Kingdom and New Zealand.
